Surprise
There was a
surprise this year in the garden...Around April 20th this lovely peach
colored Iris bloomed where I had dug up some old bulbs and replanted
them out by the mailbox. It was the only one of this color to bloom. I
wonder if there are more like it to be found? I still have so many that
have never bloomed and need to be divided and transplanted. The second surprise bloomed a few weeks
later and was also a new type of Siberian Iris to bloom. These tall
white flowers sent up stalks last year but not one had a flower. I
guess they just needed some love and attention. I hope they come back
again and again!

Wild At
Heart
![]() They have naturalized but many of them have stopped blooming due to neglect. I am going through them and dividing the overgrown bulbs and spacing them out so they are not crowded. This with some regular fertilizer should bring them all back to life. Next year I should have almost double...which will be a lot! There are many colors of purple and yellow bearded Iris. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
